Written by Drew Livingston and Madeleine Jones

In a world torn apart by war, where power, pride, and revenge reigns, Tristan & Isolde tells the story of two sworn enemies who fall in love, and risk everything for a chance at a new life.

Set amidst bitter rivalries and shattered alliances, Tristan & Isolde is a sweeping tale of forbidden love, legacy, and rebellion. Their bond forces rulers to face their own fears, and their final, daring choice—to love despite the cost—becomes the catalyst for a new future.

With decades of onstage experience between them, Drew and Madeleine have been writing together since 2020. Their shared love of classical text and story-telling through song, together with the strong themes of identity, loyalty and sacrifice is what drew them to reimagine this legendary romance for the modern age.

At its heart, Tristan & Isolde is a story that asks: can love truly change the world?

Madeleine and Drew are deeply thankful for the support of Inner West Council and the ongoing generosity of Hayes Theatre Co.
