Actors & Musicians for Workshops
What are you applying for?
There will be several new works being workshopped and then presented to an audience during the festival, we are seeking actors and/or musicians who would be interested in being part of one of these workshops.
You will work with a team of writers and composers across multiple days to develop their works culminating in a concert-style presentation of their new musical. These presentations will be done in front of a paying audience.
This is a unique performance opportunity that will allow you to:
- Be a part of the workshop process for a new musical.
- Meet and make connections with other artists.
- Develop your skills to work fast and be adaptive within a condensed schedule.
You will receive a small fee for participating in the workshop. Additionally, there may also be other opportunities that arise from being a part of these workshops.
APPLICATIONS CLOSE: Friday 25 April, 5pm
New Work Showcase
What are you applying for?
As part of our Festival of New Work, the New Work Showcase is a special event celebrating fresh, exciting voices in Australian musical theatre and cabaret.
We’re inviting writers, composers and creatives to share a 15–20 minute excerpt from their current projects. This is your opportunity to present your work to a paying audience—whether it’s a brand-new concept or something about to debut.
Each night will feature four new works, with eight being selected in total. The events will be hosted by Hayes Theatre Co’s Co-Artistic Directors, Richard Carroll and Victoria Falconer.
This is a unique opportunity to:
-
Share your work with a live audience.
-
Connect with other writers, composers and creatives.
-
Hear audience responses and spark future interest in your project.
You can perform the piece yourself, or bring in performers—totally up to you. While this isn’t a feedback session, the audience will have a chance to ask you questions after your presentation. A small fee will be paid to each selected team.
